Yard Operative – Avonmouth, Bristol – £20,995.00

We are looking for a full-time permanent Yard Operative. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for:-

  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Moving vehicles between locations on-site by either driving or by the use of a forklift truck
  • Completing inspection reports by recording the damage to vehicles as they arrive at the site
  • Providing excellent customer service and support to both clients and suppliers and deal with any issues or concerns in an effective manner
  • Cleaning vehicles and the site
  • Adhering to Health & Safety and company guidelines, and to maintain a safe and efficient working environment

Personal Attributes

  • Suitable candidates must have a full driving license
  • Previous experience using a forklift truck and have a valid (minimum 3000kg) Counterbalance or Reach forklift license is desirable but not essential as full training/certification will be provided
  • Experience of working outside in all weathers and the ability to accurately record the damage of vehicles, onto our system in a clear and concise manner
  • Imaging vehicles using video cameras recording clear and concise images and sounds

The successful candidate should also be able to work as part of a team, have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Be adaptable and have good attention to detail and basic IT skills. Previous experience working in a salvage site and knowledge and/or an interest in motor vehicles would also be desirable.

Working hours

  • Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours a week, 8.00am – 5.30pm (with a 1-hour lunch break).

Occasional weekend work may be required and will be paid at time and a half. Some Saturday working may be required.
