The UK’s leading vehicle salvage, dismantling and recycling business, is “thrilled” with its effort to help a local charity this Christmas. SYNETIQ Winsford set up a donation point at the site for its colleagues to donate food and other household items, and raised £500.
SYNETIQ is supporting Chance Changing Lives, which helps the homeless and vulnerable people of Crewe, Nantwich and surrounding areas.
The charity provides support to those people who are suffering deep poverty, those who are vulnerable and some of whom are homeless. Through its Saturday kitchen and its social supermarket, Chance Changing Lives supports 169 families a week with hot meals, food and essential household items.
The company donated an electric vehicle earlier in 2021 for the charity to continue its work. This Christmas SYNETIQ Winsford set up a donation point at the site for its colleagues to donate food and other household items, as well as raising £500.
Sandra Link, Trustee and Chair of Chance Changing Lives said: “We are so grateful for SYNETIQ’s continued support. The number of families we support has increased by 45% in the last 4 months alone, and thanks to the generous donation from SYNETIQ we are able to continue supporting those in need this Christmas.”
“It is especially hard to find yourself without the money to feed your family, let alone have any kind of festive celebration. We are currently supporting 169 families with 153 children via our social supermarket and offering extra help over the Christmas period.”
The charity, run entirely by volunteers, also offers debt advice and referral to a professional counselling service. To help with the recent vaccination drive, Chance Changing Lives also stages pop up vaccination clinics with the NHS practice to ensure that “hard to reach” individuals are not left behind.
Lodge Jones, Yard Supervisor at SYNETIQ, said: “2021 has been another challenging year for charities so we are thrilled to be able to offer some extra support at what is always a busy time of year.”
“I think it’s important as a key business in the community that we contribute and give something back to our local areas whenever we can.” Lodge continued. “We look forward to continuing our support throughout 2022.”
