Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations at our sites in Gloucester and Bristol.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring operational and financial results are achieved across all departments within the operational sites. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage all aspects of operational excellence.

This role oversees the commercially effective running of the sub departments in Operations including inventory and pricing, parts sales, dismantling, depolluting, baling and end of life vehicle management and that all operational processes, planning and KPI’s are delivered as effectively and efficiently as possible and in line with our HSEQ compliance requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects of Inventory & Planning to have the right on car and off car product (parts) in at the right time, in the right place and at the right price, all listed in our shop windows accordingly
  • Maximise all opportunities for achieving optimum results, operational sameness and best practice in all aspects of our stock lifecycle from goods in on the landing pad through to inventory and pricing, parts sales, dismantling, depolluting, end of life, baling, scrapping etc.
  • Responsible for benchmarking and improving KPI’s such as number of parts dismantled per day per dismantler, achievement of 24 hour SLA’s, number of cars landing at each site and the channels they go down e.g. auction, breaker (dismantling), end of life, parts sales targets (growth)
  • Undertake a strategic review of all aspects of site operations to support the expected monetary growth in parts sales and capacity to take in more vehicles at each site, reviewing & developing processes, systems & technological requirements used to manage the various aspects of Operations
  • Monitor, audit and report performance maintaining robust records and reporting frameworks in all areas of site Operations, actively communicate any issues with National Ops Manager/Ops Director
  • Collaborate with other SMT colleagues and functions to ensure better synergies e.g. Warehouse and Distribution, Inventory & Planning, Parts Sales, Retail Sales, Clients Team and any of our support functions (Finance, People Team, IT, Marketing, HSEQ.)
  • Delivery of strategic “People Plans” with a focus on succession planning, organisational development, performance management and ensuring adequate development of all employees under direct control is undertaken
  • Oversee all sitewide Operational HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality) risk assessments, policies and procedures, in partnership with HSEQ Team, ensuring compliance business wide and that all daily, weekly, monthly and annual checks are adhered to
  • Ensure adequate resources are allocated across the company to ensure full achievement of relevant standards and that an effective compliance culture & behaviour is adopted at all levels
  • Develop Business Continuity Plans for the site’s operations function
  • Maintain quality, safety and environmental systems; implement and audit to achieve compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, 27001, 45001 and OHSAS 18001

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role

• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels

• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

• Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards
