SYNETIQ are currently recruiting Warehouse Operatives to work in our stores/warehousing operations in Doncaster.

Joining SYNETIQ you will be given full on the job training by one of our experienced team members although ideally you will have some automotive and or warehousing experience already.

What’s the role?

The main purpose of the role is to assist in the day to day provision and maintenance of an efficient stock control and warehousing department. This team ensure our already dismantled second hand car parts are correctly identified, labelled and located in the right storage locations ready for picking and packing for when sold.

What responsibilities will you have?

  • Review second-hand parts and carry out a visual quality check to determine whether the part is suitable for resale, reconditioning, export, scrap or surplus to requirements in accordance with agreed standards
  • Check the accuracy of information marked on parts with the vehicle and parts database to ensure compliance, updates are made onto the database accordingly with a description and other details such as year, make, engine size, number of doors, etc and any extras (e.g. convertible roof)
  • Print out parts tags, attach to part, wrap as necessary and place in the appropriate stores location, using fork lifts, wave machines, organising for outside storage and labelling shelves as required.
  • Image specific parts (e.g. alloys, mirrors, etc) as requested by management or customers, upload to the database and cleaning parts as required
  • Complete reservation tags for parts as notified, locate specified parts, attach tags and store in appropriate location
  • Assist with stock taking, stock rotation, stock movements and removal of damaged or redundant parts from shelves. This included amending the stock records accordingly
  • Assist with the fulfilment of export orders, removing and replacing items from shelves, loading cages and containers, amending stock records and using forklifts as necessary
  • Provide general assistance and advice, responding to enquiries, advising suitable alternatives, checking parts’ availability, locating and collecting parts, booking out and refunding stock parts
  • Ensure that all works are undertaken in accordance with health and safety standards, that all tools, equipment and ramps used (including de-pollution rig if required) are properly maintained in accordance with best practice, any waste spills dealt with, and that the workplace is kept in a clean, safe and tidy condition at all times.
  • Ensure that all paperwork and electronic records are completed accurately and on time
  • Provide cover for any other appropriate and any other duties as may be required

What kind of person would be suited?

The successful candidate will have:

  • Have experience in a warehousing role ideally
  • Have a basic understanding of vehicle parts
  • Have basic computer skills, with the ability to adapt to our bespoke parts software
  • Ability to work in a competent and efficient manner
  • Work well on your own or as part of a busy team
  • Strong communication skills
  • You will need to be able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment and multi task methodically
  • Must be able to lift and handle heavy weights in a safe manner
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weathers

Pay will be dependent on experience.

Working hours typically 08:30- 17:00 Monday to Friday. Overtime available at time and half when authorised/business needs. Fortnightly pay.
